About This Painting
What does it mean?

When I was a kid I had a tree house. I loved being in my tree house and using my imagination while I was up there.  My friends would come over and stay the night, and we'd sleep in the tree house and read ghost stories.  I always liked to climb trees when I was a kid.  I'm not sure why, but I just liked being up high and looking out at everything.  It was my ideal place to be. 

I thought it would be a neat idea to create a painting of where I would like to go after I pass on.  And I would tell all of my friends and family to meet me at the tree.  If you have ever watched the movie "What Dreams May Come," you'll understand what it means to live inside a painting after you die. 

The bridge connects the afterlife with the real world, and the balloons represent the people who are already there.  We leave a piece of us back in the real world, but we all get to live on in the tree.   

That is what this painting means to me.
